The Chinese city of Shenzhen borders the Special Administrative Region of Hong Kong, which for years has been a British colony and it is also one of the economic centers of Asia.

For centuries, Shenzhen has been a modest population engaged in agriculture and fisheries, almost oblivious to its proximity to major economic centers of the East.

In 1980, when Shenzhen had about 30,000 inhabitants, the Chinese government decided to grant the distinction of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone (EEZ). It was the first to be established in China.

This type of distinction led to the installation in the area of many companies, mainly from Hong Kong capital. In a few years the city has gained population dramatically. Today its population by counting all round the districts than 9 million people.
